Cynthia (nicknamed "Fluke") is a minor character who appears in "Doug Gets His Ears Lowered". She works at Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow in the Four-Leaf Clover Mall. She has a noticeable British/Australian accent. blonde and wears a blue dress, cuff bracelets and a 1960s peace sign necklace. She can present herself to be kind. However, he is eccentric and off-kilter according to Skeeter Valentine and loves to do extreme haircuts.

Doug, unfortunately, gets her as his barber, but he manages to escape before she is able to cut his hair. Roger finds this hysterical and offers to take his spot, annoying her. It is later revealed the she in fact gave Roger a haircut resembling that of moose antlers.

Trivia

  • Cynthia may be based on Cynthia Jill French, a designer for the show who worked on 13 episodes (including "Doug Gets His Ears Lowered").
  • It is unknown if the character was a hit at Sandy Olsson from the film Grease. Sandy, the lead female protagonist of the film, was herself an Australian immigrant to the United States, blonde and initially very kind and sweet-hearted. Barry Diller, the then head of 20th Century Fox who was head of Paramount when Paramount distributed Grease, was a top nemesis of then-overall Nickelodeon head Sumner Redstone.
